Snowman's Surprise!

The gentle tones of this watercolor tell us a simple story.  While kitties and mice are supposed to be enemies, this little cat in his Santa Cap has created a special surprise for the mice who live nearby.  Hiding behind his Kitty Snowman, he has carefully wrapped and placed little gifts for the mice people and watches in warm anticipation to see their Joy and surprise ..... for this is a time of peace between us all.  Even the birds have been remembered with an apple hung for them to snack on.   Buy Now

Solstice Crane  

The splendid fires of  Solstice dawn backlight this solitary Sand Hill Crane as it flies out to celebrate the day .  I used to live near the Bosque del Apache Reserve  New Mexico where the Sand Hills and the Whooping Cranes spent their winters.   Every day they flew out in great flocks to find grain fields mown by harvest but still holding much food for them. In the evenings they returned to the waters and safety of the reserve.  They were large, vocal and magnificent.  What more beautiful way to welcome the Solstice than to see one flying over my head as I stood in the cold. waiting and calling in the sun with voice and drum!         Buy Now
